The Hillside

Written in the high volcanic south.

Guji sits in southern Ethiopia’s Oromia Region at 1,800 — 2,350m — among the highest coffee lands in the country. Volcanic red basalt soils, cool nights, and dense heirloom arabica yield a cup prized by specialty roasters: berry and tropical fruit sweetness, jasmine florals, a silky body, and a refined, tea-like brightness. Natural lots lean fruit-forward; washed lots show citrus and florals with exceptional clarity.
